Postcards from the Edge...of the Falls

Taken from the American side of Niagara Falls on a day that was sunny but 14 degrees, without the wind chill! Luckily my camera picked up the rainbow in the right corner. The funny part is once we crossed to the Canadian side, there was no snow or ice to be seen.

The Crazy Mountain Range

This mountain range is always producing great, crazy great, subjects. I've also been studying prints by the man, whose work probably influenced these shots...

Winter Without Rain!

There is nothing worst that a frozen-dry dyas in Winter!
Here we are in the Kurdistan region in nothern Iraqi living under dry cold days. From November 2007 till now there was only one rain shower for only few hours along of two days, but there was 4 times snow falling over the high mountains.
The weather here now is like Mars (Dry and exteremly cold)...!
We are still waiting and praying, may be we see the planets growing back again over the dusty dry soil!
Still there is a hope!

OK, so I did winter and autumn. Can summer be far behind? (WHAT??)

Remember? There really were some hot days.... here are some free spirits at the Farmers' Market.

Now for a taste of autumn, near the Old Chico road

Dailey Lake

Sometimes it turns out to be a good thing to go off aimlessly with a camera. This is what I found on just such a trip. The only living creatures I saw along the way were cedar waxwings. At the lake, there was not a sound, not a breath of wind, and not a bird, animal or fish to be found.

Il y'avait une silence profonde pendant que le soleil se couchait. Il y'avait de la paix.

Almost Igloo

It's time for Igloo Nation again, with feet of snow sticking in the hills and more storms coming. Today was spent up Tom Minor Basin, nearly completing the first of several igloos I'm going to build this winter and early spring. Here's a teaser shot, but I should have it completed tomorrow and will post some shots. Ken (K2 here on the blog) is going to join me...after a morning spent viewing Ansel Adams photos at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman.

2007 in Review

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great time with their celebrations last eve. I spent some time going back through the year and decided to post some of my favorite shots posted on the site and to share some site traffic stats. The images are in alphabetical order based upon the photographer's first name and are not organized based upon any rating...I just like them. Feel free to comment or post your favorite images from 2007, just be sure to credit each photographer accordingly. Best to you all in 2008!

Site Stats:
Here are our site stats for 2007. Visitors (yellow) and Page Views (orange) are directly tied to the number of posts-per-month, which I added in gray text at the bottom of each column on the upper graph. In other words, a small number of additional posts each month results in far greater readership. I encourage everyone in 2008 to post a few extra times (as you're able, of course) and I think we can really bring our reader numbers up and get some well-deserved recognition for all the talented photographers who participate in this blog. I appreciate everyone's efforts for the past two and a half years, and look forward to what the New Year offers.
