The August of Eclipses

It was very nice chance to meet with two of wonderful astronomical events in Arbil city.A partial soalr eclipse on Aug.01.2008,and a partial lunar Eclipse on Aug.16-17,2008.Although we still suffering with simple lences for astrophotography, but there was no way to let these two phenomenas passing without some shots.

Pine Beetle

I find it fascinating how incredibly long these beetles antennas are. Ugly creature- but cool.

Eagle Hood Ornament

I caught this eagle taking off a cliff on a recent drive through the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. Funny thing was, it ended up being the last shot on my card, leaving me with one eagle picture.

Shadows & Light Beams

Some times ,even hot summer clouds are presenting cool scenes!

A Different Kind of Color

Not the typical post for this page, but coming from a (sort of) big city, I don't get out far enough to get pretty landscapes.

So, can you name this band? There is a tiny clue in the title. It is very hard to get a picture of the singer's face - even if he looks up, the hat is usually in the way. Extra points if you know his name...

Gallatin Valley

I went for a sweet drive Saturday night out to Hyalite and Cottonwood, as the sun was getting low. I got this photo with the vibrant natural light. No need for a flash.

A brife photo story of Akra

It is a small village, but with too many stories.Looking at the faces, starry night,stair-shape houses, fountains, all of them are telling us the simple daily life story of the village of Akra near the Iraqi-Turkish border.

Eaten Alive?

Coming soon on Animal Planet

Here is something completely different - a major diversion from my usual work.

I got an assignment shooting stills for a TV program recently. Discovery Channel's - Animal Planet will be airing a program called Eaten Alive, and they were here in Montana shooting a piece on a Grizzly Bear mauling. I'll let you see the photos, but don't faint... the blood is fake. But the bear is quite real. His name is Brutus and his master is Casey. This is the most fantastic thing you've ever seen. Casey raised Brutus since he was a cub. Now he's 900 lbs! I can't tell you in words what its like to stand a few feet from a full grown Grizzly! But maybe the photos will give you an idea. Enjoy the pics.

And for those of you that think a photographers job (especially one that shoots weddings every weekend) might be a bit too, well... all bouquets and dresses? Not mine!

Isn't Brutus beautiful???
