Experience Music Project
I am doing a showing of some of some photos at Rockford Coffee, in Bozeman, next month. This will be my first showing of photos, so naturally everyone is invited to attend. I will post the details as they unravel. Here is a sample of some of the images I will be showing. The images are a textural study of the Experience Music Project Museum in Seattle. As a whole I don't find this Frank Gehry building particularly appealing, but when you are up close and personal with it, it has many different faces to connect to. These photos were taken on various days in 2001, 2002, and 2003.
Wow! I love these. I will definately take in your show in Bozeman. I was noticing how significantly different the images are in the small version and the large. I'm curious how large the prints are for the show. In the small form they seem to take on the shapes and shading of human forms. In the large format the metal work is more obvious, but never the less... skin like.
ReplyDeleteVery cool and perceptive work. Thanks for sharing these with us. Best, Larry
Very cool, Cre. Glad to hear you're doing a show...they're fun, but just remember that the words of critics are only words. I like that you revisited the site of the photos over several years, way cool. I've visited Gehry's work all over Europe, very cool stuff. I'm surprised his Wikipedia page doesn't mention the huge fish at Puerto Olympico in Barcelona, Spain. Be sure to post the date of your opening so Jay and I can make it over.
