Another Go

Max, Cre, Jay and I hit the road for a short bit on Sat. The picture of the orb is actually the sun, which I really dig but was deemed "worst photograph ever" at the time. Love those high shutter speeds. Good times with good friends.

Mas Color

What a cold, beautiful evening. That crisp air is great-ient! It was Jess' first trip with the LPS crew, thanks to her for joining us.

Fun time on our polar expedition in the Suby the other night. You guys were champions. Here's what I came up with after the deep freeze photo shoot. I was loving how the orange sunset was creating these aqua blue shadows, that were the constrasting color of the orange glow, and almost the same color as the sky directly above. The contrasting colors thing has been coming up a lot lately so I apologize for going off about this. I told these guys that a painting teacher once taught me that in nature you can depend on finding contrasting colors in the landscape, and to use that as a palette. Often the contrasting colors of the same hue if seen from far enough away look like the same color. I think you can apply that to painting and photography.

Gallatin Valley

Gallatin Valley has some very impressive sunsets when it's -10 in temp and clear skies. The freezing cold makes for very difficult photography.

One more post before I go to Le East Coast and dump buckets of Clam Chowder over my face for a week. Homecoming.

That's A Good Little Kitten

She doesn't belong out there.
With the Skunks and the Badgers.
The Bobcats and Coyotes.
She belongs in a nice warm bed.
She belongs on a couch,
in front of a toasty fire.
She belongs indoors, playing with
her new BIG brother, Coulis.
Now all she needs is a name.
