Prayers

I spent this last weekend at a Tibetan Monastery. Lines and lines of prayer flags hang from trees in the backyard. The wind carries the prayers printed on the flags to the distant corners of the world. My friend Lama Kunga taught us that they are called 'lungta' in Tibetan, which means wind horses. This is Lama Kunga, though unfortunately I didn't take the picture of him.

  1. JL,

Thanks for joining our little photo world. I really like your picture of the prayer flags, very cool, and great commentary also. I wanted to let you know that you've just posted the 150th entry to the blog - awesome! Look forward to having you around this summer, your dad tells me you're going to be his #1 assistant. I can't wait to see more material down the road.

Take care and get home safe,
    CR

  3. Hey guys -- thanks for your comments. This monastery is located in Walden, NY. It's about a 45 minute drive from my school. And yes: I am going to be back in town this summer. I am very happy about that. I'm going to do an internship and assist my dad on the weekend. V. good! See you soon. And thanks for letting me be a part of your photo world :)
